NHS National Statistics 2007: 6 million emergency calls in 2006-2007, an increase of 6.3% from 2005-2006. Category A incidents in 2006-2007 was 1.8 million, an increase of 9.4% over 2005-2006. Over 1.3 million Category A calls received a response within 8 minutes.
